Let me give you a little history . . .
This is totally a staged joke! I was there. It was a cleaning day at our church and our media person thought this would be a funny way of reminding people on Sunday morning to silence their cell phones. We videoed it – notice the audience is all women and children – and played it for several Sunday services. Our congregation loved it because it was so completely out of character for our pastor. I am amazed that people think it’s real even after seeing the tag at the end telling people to turn their cell phones off.
Thanks, Janice. As I said, of course, it’s fake. But it’s still fun. It’s a good reminder, and I can say, as one who has preached through many cell phone rings that we need for it to go viral.
Wait….I’ve watched this many, many times now. There is no way this is fake.
