April 29th, 1865: Queen Victoria, still grieving and “utterly broken-hearted” following the death of Prince Albert four years previous, writes an empathetic letter of condolence to Mary Todd Lincoln following the recent assassination of her husband, Abraham Lincoln.

I love this. Have y’all seen the movie The Young Victoria? I really appreciated the way her marriage to Prince Albert was portrayed.
I haven’t seen that movie. I need to put it on my list.
What a wonderful post! I love history and am blessed when I read things like this. I wish we had this civility and faith amongst our leaders today. I will have to check out that movie that Pat suggests too. Thank you Chris for sharing this.
