I feel like I’ve scored a touchdown if a teen chooses one of my pictures as their Facebook profile. It’s our way of showing them that the Bricks care.
If you like both sports and photography* then the sidelines of football games are a good place to watch a game.
But, what I enjoy most about being on the sidelines is neither football or photography. Rather, I treasure the opportunity to show young people that I am interested in their world.
Whenever a teen uses a picture I took as a profile picture in Facebook, I feel like I’ve gotten into the end zone. My prayer is that in some small way the young people of our community will know we care about them. When they like a picture enough to use it for Facebook, I figure I’ve scored.
Can you think of a way to communicate to young people you are interested in their world?
*If I was only as good a photographer as Patricia Hunter!
Thank you Chris! That was great and it does make a difference to the kids – and their parents! 🙂 It meant a lot to Tyler that you used him as an example in your sermon too. I love being a part of a small community and of our Red Brick Church!
Yes, thank you Chris for taking an interest in what KC does. It really does mean a lot to him to know that you are interested in what he is doing in his life and caring for him. We as family are blessed to be apart of a small community and a church that cares.

that was KC who said that last comment! it came up as my mother!
