An ordinary hero is a person who quietly (pastors don’t qualify) and faithfully serves. These are people we should honor. Do you know any ordinary heroes? Send them to me at chris [at] theredbrickchurch.org
Bernice is one of the sweetest ladies I have ever had the privilege of serving as a pastor. She has been in this role for longer than Israel was in the wilderness.

I was just asking my mother how long she had been Sunday School secretary and she said she thought she started in 1965!! 45 years of collecting offering in our church is quite a long service. She is a great example for all.
I whole heartedly agree!
A true example of sweet, joyous service to our Lord!
I couldn’t agree more. Bernice always has that joyous smile on. A true hero we could all honor and respect. Great job Bernice, keep up the good work. Your a true and faithful servant of the Lord.
My mom is an ordinary hero. We started going to Garfield when I was in 2nd grade so I must have been about 7 years old and I think she has been working in the nursery nearly every Sunday since.
Kathy – – your mom truly is a hero, such a wonderful person. People like your mom and her strong willed daughter are why being a pastor is such a joy.
Yes I also agree. I see Bernice not only working in our church but also out and about the community doing more work for the Lord. I want to grow up and be just like her.
Thank you Lord for all the great examples of servents you have placed in our church Lord. We are truly blessed!
Bernice is a true hero!! I think the world of Bernice and she will always be an extra-ordinary hero in my world!! Thank you Bernice for all you do!!
Kathy – It seems to me that your Dad also ministers patiently along with and alongside of your Mom. He probably should be on the list, also.
We miss you.
