I’ve been thinking and studying a great deal in recent days about the sacraments or ordinances. I’m okay with either word. I am convinced that we need to recover a more biblical view of their central place in the life of the church. I found this sermon by Russell Moore helpful in my thinking and encouraging to my heart.
Here’s a quote by Moore:
Sometimes we are confused into thinking that all this cup and bread is to kind of make a mental note. We say to ourselves, ‘Okay, I’m going to remember. And, this is kind of a little way for me to remember.’ But, that’s not all Jesus said. . . .”
