But, it’s worth it . . . “Our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal weight of glory that far outweighs them all.”
““Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me.(Mt 24:9).”
“strengthening the disciples and encouraging them to remain true to the faith. “We must go through many hardships to enter the kingdom of God,” they said.(Ac 14:22).”
“Remember the words I spoke to you: ‘No servant is greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also.(Jn 15:20).”
“ Dear friends, do not be surprised at the painful trial you are suffering, as though something strange were happening to you.(1 Pe 4:12).”
“In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted,(2 Ti 3:12).”
“For it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for him,(Php 1:29).”
I read all of the scriptures with your Don’t be Surpised by Suffering entry. The problem is, I do get surprised everytime. I think when we are following in God’s ways and keeping our eyes on him, we think we are building up some kind of immunity. Of course we are not. In fact, as we grow closer to Jesus, the enemy will attempt to somehow trip us up. It works for a while, but then the truth that is living in me kicks in and I realize that I must be going in the right direction for the enemy to want to attack me.
It is still hard to suffer hardships but it is great knowing that I am considered worthy to suffer for Christ!
