As I’ve mentioned in recent days – – I am working on an Easter Primer for our church family. I want to include recommendations for hymns that focus on the Cross and the Resurrection.
So far I have the following:
“Alas and Did My Savior Bleed”
“When I Survey the Wondrous Cross”
“Christ the Lord Has Risen Today”
What am I missing? Which is your favorite?

“He Arose”–we stood around my mom’s grave and sang this!
Oh and for Good Friday–“O Sacred Head Now Wounded”
and Easter “Christ Is Risen” (newer one by Matt Maher)
Not sure if Alice and I are thinking of the same song but one favorite is “Christ Arose” by Robert Lowry……….I love the way it builds to the finish.
