Grudem summarizes that Christians have made at least 5 kinds of errors in relating to government:

Government compelling people to believe in a particular way. This doesn’t work and has caused many wars.

Governments excluding faith.

Christians who believe all government is evil and demonic.

Christians not influencing politics at all.

Christians doing politics but not evangelism.
Grudem says the goal should be for the Church, “To have a significant Christian influence on government to the extent that God allows.”
