A Failed Gospel Tract

  1. So true. It kind of reminds me of Jesus’ evangelism of the Rich Young Ruler (Mark 10:17-30). I highly recommend the book by Walt Chantry “Today’s Gospel” written about 30 years ago, but just as relevant, perhaps even more so, to evangelism today.

  2. Chris, I am especially thinking of this point given my sermon on Sunday. I am preaching on the end of Hebrews 11 and the point that none of them received what had been promised in this life, see Heb 11:39-40.

  3. One of the Pastors at the church we used to attend was struck with cancer and suffered great physical pain for many years. He was a real man of the Word and was greatly loved by the congregation. Many people prayed and truly had faith that God would heal him. When he finally succcumbed to the disease and died many people were shaken to the core. But the verse that kept coming to mind was John 12:24, “I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds.” Thank you for your post. Our lives are truly not our own. Live or die we belong to God.

  4. That doesn’t look like Aslan. Wouldn’t you like to hear a conversation between Joel Osteen and the Apostle Paul?
