If you are having a tough week, soak in these words from Revelation 21.
” Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”(Re 21:1-5).”
Sometimes when we picture heaven, we envision a sort of vague, spiritual existence, floating in the clouds. But, the Bible makes it clear that the ultimate destination for God’s people is a new earth. There God’s people will be with him forever where there will be no more death, mourning, crying, or pain.
I’ve told you in the past. My family has a meeting place all picked out in the New Jerusalem. Were going to meet at the 5th tree, on the right side of the river, facing the throne of God. If you are a believer, and you plan on being in the Heavenly city, then you are invited to come by.
Be assured of this. Christ will return soon. Believe in Him and look forward to the New Earth.
We long for His appearing more and more every day. Jill and I were encouraged when we read this entry.
Jill and I remember the – will see you there – look forward to reconnecting.
You play and sing. I’ll preach. Even on the New Earth, it probably won’t work the other way around – – at least not with me singing.
